The Rose Collection 2 Ways

The Rose Collection was the very first flower I ever created. On the floor of my dining room I remember taking poster boards and cutting shapes that would mimic the texture we all know and love from the rose. I found that the trick was not only the shape of the cut but also how the I rolled the paper. As I cut, folded and rolled the paper, eventually I found exactly what I knew I wanted!

The Rose is more versatile than what meets the eye. All you have to do is change a few steps and you have a completely different style of flower. You will adore how this flower can change and even be mixed with the original rose to create a one of a kind look. Let’s create the Rose two ways! 

step one

First, roll the corners of the petals as instructed in the tutorial video and grab a center of your choice, here are some inspiration ideas. Once you have your centers selected you can start to construct your second version of the Rose.

Then, instead of starting in the center of the flower, we are going to start with the outermost petals and create two layers of five. Alternate gluing the petals into place and rotate the direction you are rolling. Roll the same way and then roll the opposite way.

Once the outer layer is complete, repeat these steps on the second layer. Once the two layers are in place, add the center and you’re done!
